EagleRail Hardware Overview – Fixed, Overhead, Electric Light Rail With Cargo Carriers

Carrier Specs

  • All electric, self-driving carriers move single containers

  • Carries 20-, 40-, 45-, and 53-foot ISO containers
    of all heights

  • Cruising speed of 20mph (32kph)

  • Moves heavy container loads of 72,000 lbs.
    (32,500 kg)

  • Multiple motors on carriers increase carrier reliability

  • Quiet, generating under 75 dBA (e.g., dishwasher
    is 70 dBA)

Focus On Safety

  • Long-proven corner twist locks secure containers

  • Sensors and bumpers guarding against carrier collisions

  • Fences and shielding secure the conveyance corridor

Adaptable Design

  • Inclines and declines for uneven terrain , crosses water, tidal lands, water wetlands, and obstacles

  • Designed for high wind, precipitation, and salt air conditions

  • Narrow enough to use many existing rail and utility corridors

EagleRail System Conveys all ISO Containers and Rack/Car Carriers

EagleRail/ERX overhead, electrified conveyance systems can lift and carry any type of open or closed box and/or platform that has the ISO 20’ and/or 40’ positioned lifting points.

Drive-on open car racks can hold two-to-three cars from dockside to processing yards and rail ramps, reducing local traffic, gate congestion, and vehicle wear.

EagleRail can convey containers of almost any weight and dimension handled by the ocean carriers and North American railroads.

Number of Track Lanes Vary by Volume and Load/Unload Nodes.

ER Track, Truss and Columns Single & Multi-Lane Configurations:

Industrial crane rail is mounted to proven truss design.

Vertical cross-bracing can be tubular or mini-I-beam depending on supplier capabilities, weight and best pricing.

Columns can be steel, concrete or a mix depending on local needs, supply base and price.

Suspended switches divert traffic from lane to lane in seconds.

All Systems Custom Designed and Validated Through Digital Twin FlexSim Simulations

EagleRail systems are 100% customizable based on directional volumes, deliver-time windows, number of pick-up and drop-off nodes, routes and rights-of-way, and finally, existing and planned loading equipment interfaces needed.

After original CAD designs and operating calculations are created, reviewed and approved to move forward, those preliminary system designs are imported into our customized “overhead shipping container conveyance” module of FlexSim for DSE (Discrete Simulation Events) digital twinning.

Systems are then run with varying flow rates to check for carrier to cargo match-ups, delivery times, wait times and planned and unplanned temporary system stoppages.
